This houseplant has prominent, glossy dark green leaves that appear almost black, giving it its distinctive name. The contrast between the dark green foliage and the vibrant red growth tips creates a striking visual appeal that rivals any flower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watch out for common problems like leaf drop, which can be caused by sudden environmental changes, flooding, or low humidity. Pests such as spider mites, mealybugs and scale insects may also affect this plant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-often-should-i-water-my-ficus-black\">How often should I water my Ficus Black?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This plant needs evenly moist but well-drained soil. When the topsoil is dry, water it thoroughly and allow the excess soil to drain. Avoid overwatering or drying the soil completely. This allows the roots to grow properly and the plant to grow better.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cleaning the leaves:<\/strong> As the new leaves are growing, remove the old and dry leaves from the plant to make it a more beautiful specimen and also to prevent the occurrence of diseases and pests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Moving:<\/strong> Do not move the plant frequently, as this may cause shock and drop the leaves.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Pests and diseases:<\/strong> Be careful that pests such as spider mites, aphids and weevils do not attack the plant.
